Escalante State Park
We went to Escalante State Park over spring break with 5 other families in our neighborhood. We had such a great time hiking, visiting, eating, and relaxing. Friday we drove 50 miles down a red dirt road (wash board) to go on a hike. We heard it was a moderate hike so we thought it would be fine for the group of people ranging from 3 yrs. to 45 yrs. It was fine until we came to a wall that we had to climb to go any further. After crying, I convinced Hiram I couldn't go any further. So I, along with one other, waited for the rest to go on and finish the "Peekaboo" hike. They came back and said that my family and 7 others continued on to the "Spooky" hike. When they came back, my husband admitted that it was a good thing that I didn't continue on! Here are some pictures of the wall that needed to be climbed in order to

This is for you, Kayleen!
It's facebook's fault - or whomever introduced me to facebook!! Now I have to play catch up and that is bad news because my memory is terrible. January and February have been filled with lots of snowboarding for Kyle and basketball for everyone! Kyle and Mitchell have been playing Jr. Jazz and doing great, it's just the team they are on that really struggles. Mitchell is done for the season and they didn't win one game, but they sure came close to winning a couple! Kyle has one more game and we are hoping that that will be the ONE. McKay has been playing church ball and made it to regions. They had their first game tonight and won by 1 point! We were down by one and McKay got fouled and put in the two foul shots to win the game!! It was pretty exciting (even the part where one of our high councilmen who happens to be in our ward was kindly asked to leave the gym)!!
In Kyle's defense, his knees were bothering him (osgood schlatter's) and he didn't wear his knee bands that night.

Merry Christmas!!
It was so nice to have a very white Christmas!! Although it was a little bit scary driving home from Bountiful from the Burnett family Christmas party! We had a great time visting with family, opening presents and sharing germs!! There were quite a few of us that got the stomach flu. Yuck!
We had another fun get together with Hiram's brothers and families the next day! It's not very often that all four of them are together. We really miss Robert and Jana and family and are happy to have Blaine and Cindy and family back!!
Kyle had a birthday, shout hooray!
Before the party was over we received some sad news. Hiram's sister, Holly and her husband, Tyler, lost their sweet little Elle Marie. She was born at 21 weeks. We were able to leave the party and go to the hospital and see the sweet, perfect little girl. Holly was pregnant with twins and the little boy is doing well and has made it to 23-1/2 weeks. Holly has been in the hospital for 3 weeks and will stay until the baby is born. What a trooper!
Because we left to go to the hospital, there are no birthday pictures for Kyle so I'll post a picture from the Burnett family Christmas Party with his awesome cousins!
Last football post . . .
We went to McKay's football banquet without the camera! It was very crowded with most of the 60 players and their parents. The coaches had a lot of good to say about McKay and we are very proud of him for how hard he played and how well he did! This is the first year that the coaches got trophies for a sophomore team at Riverton High, but because they were undefeated, they thought it was the least they could do! They've got a bright future ahead of them!

It's hard to share your birthday with Thanksgiving, but it happens to McKay every 7 years! He did get to celebrate with friends before we left for Idaho for Thanksgiving. Happy 16th Birthday, McKay! We love you!

We had a great Thanksgiving in Idaho - lots of yummy food and hanging out with cousins. Thanks Kayleen and Roy for opening your home to everyone!
Then on Friday Roy was nice enough to take the boys on rides in his parachute plane thingy! They loved it! Thanks, Roy, for spending all day taking one of us for a ride, repacking the chute, moving the plane, unpacking the chute and taking the next one for a ride, then starting all over again!
And, of course, the highlight of our trips to Idaho - Grandma!
